The goal of the Huron East Fire Department is to provide fire protection services through a range of programs designated to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants from the adverse effects of fires, exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature, first to the municipality, second to those municipalities requiring assistance through authorized emergency fire service plans and agreements.

Fire protection includes fire suppression, fire prevention, fire safety education, communication, training of persons involved in the provisions of fire protection, rescue and emergency services and the delivery of those services.

Fire protection services provided by the Huron East Fire Department will include, but not be limited to the following non-fire emergencies:
  • Rescue from motor vehicle accidents and industrial accidents
  • Emergencies involving hazardous materials to an awareness level
  • Search and Rescue

Any other emergencies deemed necessary by the Fire Chief, District Fire Chief or designated Officer.

The primary mission of the Huron East Fire Department is to provide a range of programs to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants of the Municipality of Huron East and other municipalities it serves from the effects of fires or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature.

Are you interested in joining the Huron East Fire Department?
If so you can email your resume to with a covering letter stating the reasons why you want to join, which station you are interested in joining and that you have permission from your current employer that if chosen, you are permitted to leave work to respond to a call. All names are kept on file until a spot opens. When a spot opens all resumes will be reviewed and a decision made. Only successful candidates will be contacted.

Notice to Huron East Property Owners who have fire alarms monitored by an outside service
If your property has a fire alarm which is monitored by an outside service like Chubb Security or Georgian Bay please ensure they have the proper number to call in case you need the fire department. These agencies monitor your alarm from outside our area and cannot just call 911-they need our dispatch phone number to call directly. Please call your provider and ask them what phone number they are using to call the fire department then contact the Huron East Fire Department at 519-527-0160 to verify if it is correct. Thank you.
