Special Curbside Leaf Pick up - Brussels, Seaforth / Egmondville / Harpurhey and Vanastra |
Fall Leaf Collection for Seaforth, Egmondville, Harpurhey, Brussels and Vanastra Huron East will ONLY collect leaves in COMPOSTABLE PAPER YARD BAGS which can be purchased at many hardware and grocery stores. Staff will collect leaf bags left at the curb in a timely manner in October and November. Leaf pick up in this manner is the most cost-effective, reliable and consistent way to collect leaves in urban areas. An even better way to deal with leaves is to mulch them in place with your lawnmower. This keeps them from blowing around in the wind and provides excellent nutrients for healthy lawns. Huron East also has 2 compost sites in Harphurhey and Brussels for residents to take yard waste to. To keep our roads safe and storm drains clear, please DO NOT rake leaves to the curb.
