How to Pay your Fine
Individuals have 10 days to pay the original fine on the ticket. If the payment has not been made within the 10 days of the date of infraction, or a request for trial has not been made, the owner of the vehicle plate will receive a Notice of Impending Conviction (NIC) Letter in the mail. An additional $11 will be charged to the ticket. If the payment has not been received by the date indicated on the NIC letter, the ticket will be sent to the Provincial Offences Court and all payments must be completed through the Court. Failure to pay the fine imposed upon conviction will result in an order that your Ontario Vehicle Permit not be renewed and that no new permit be issued to the plate owner until the fine is paid and all court costs and fees have been paid. Request a trial If you intend to plead not guilty - you may choose option 2 on the back of your ticket and return to the Municipal Office within the 10 days of infraction. |
