2025 Spring Hydrant Flushing Schedule

Hydrant Flushing Underway in Huron East

HURON EAST – The Municipality of Huron East has begun its annual hydrant and blow-off flushing program as part of regular maintenance to ensure the continued safety and quality of the municipal water system.

Flushing is taking place during daytime hours according to the following schedule:

• Brussels & Brucefield: April 14 – 25, 2025 (now in progress)

• Seaforth & Egmondville: April 28 – May 16, 2025

• Vanastra: May 19 – 23, 2025

Residents may notice cloudy or discoloured water during flushing activities. While the water remains safe to use, it is recommended to run a cold-water tap until the water runs clear if discolouration occurs.

To prevent staining or damage to clothing, residents are advised to avoid doing laundry—particularly white loads—on the scheduled flushing days in their area.

Temporary low water pressure may also be experienced; however, pressure will return to normal shortly after flushing is completed in each location.
