Collection begins on Tuesday, October 15th and will take place every Monday after that until November 18th, 2024, weather permitting. If Monday falls on a holiday, bags will be picked up the next day!
📢Leaves must be in biodegradable paper bags!
Please ensure the bags weigh no more than 23kg/50lbs. Please note that staff will not pick up overweight bags, bags that are not biodegradable paper bags or bags that contain other waste, such as garbage or animal feces.
An even better way to deal with leaves is to mulch them with your lawnmower! This keeps them from blowing around & provides excellent nutrients for healthy lawns. To keep our roads safe & storm drains clear, please do not rake leaves to the curb.
Once the collection period has ended, residents must dispose of these bags at their local compost site.
Huron East has 2 Compost Sites for residents to take yard waste to: 79522 Hannah Line, Harpurhey & 108 Turnberry St., Brussels.
